the ehealth research and innovation unit presented their work about the VITAMO project at the Tyrolean Future Day 2018. On 1 January 2018 the goverment of Tyrol (Land Tirol) took over the presidency of EUSALP. As a region at the heart of the Alps and one of the founders of EUSALP, Tyrol is a driving force for the Strategy for the Alpine Region.

TWF funding received

TWF 2018

Lukas Huber received the TWF funding for his project "DocCare". The project aims to analyze healthcare processes based on document data and to test new methods for indexing, visualization and analysis. The FHIR standard and methods of machine learning will be used to gain new insights into the potential of knowledge generation from structured or semi-structured data.

Interdisciplinary research award

UMIT Award

Alexander Hörbst received the UMIT research award for interdiciplinary research 2018.

Head of review board - Medical Informatics Initiative German Health Ministry

Alexander Hörbst was head of the review board for the biggest funds distribution to date for medical informatics in Germany provided by the Health Ministry. In total a 150 mi. Euro were distributed to the winning consortia. Together with other international high class-experts they selected 17 University hospitals and 40 other partners to participate in a 4 year medical informatics initiative.
